Hiking

I am an avid hiker and enjoy long-distance backpacking. Beyond the occasional weekend trips, I also enjoy much longer efforts. I’ve managed a couple of hikes in the 100+ mile territory.

After defending my Ph.D. in May 2024, I spent 129 days hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. Unfortunately, I missed some sections in NorCal due to wildfire closures, but I plan to tick those miles on future section hikes! Since then, I’ve also done hut-to-hut style hikes on the Tour du Mont Blanc and Kumano Kodo, as well as a recent thru-hike of the Long Trail in Vermont.
